Today, I visited this museum for the first time. I am ashamed that this is in my hometown and I had never visited. Our guide Kellie made this such a memorable visit with her extreme knowledge and her sheer passion for what is obvious enjoyment to all that listens. She has made me a fan....
I have had contact, joy, challenges, reprieve, knowledge and most of all, so many "aha!" moments over many years of visiting the Erie ARTS Museum. I have taken "one evening" classes as well as week long teacher Act 48 classes. There is so much vitality in the building.....Music on the Patio on Wednesdays offered for free during the lunch hour... 更多
The Spring Show & permanent collections featured some great local artists that we would never have seen if we hadn't come here: We all loved the Joseph Plavcan paintings. Overall, the works were very interesting and modern. We all got a kick out of the old building and my kids LOVED the Dark Garden! Oh, and you have to go... 更多
A great way to see Erie Art Museum is to go at noon on Wednesday. They have free outdoor concerts and admission to the museum. The museum has several great displays. You can buy a drink or lunch, listen to a good concert, and enjoy the art.
This was $9 well spent. We were there about an hour and a half. The art of comic book exhibit was my favorite. There were really interesting pieces there. A lot of local are which is cool. I was a little confused on the layout so make sure to grab a map. It wasn't busy so it felt like we... 更多
This museum has much to offer, besides the musical lunches in the summer and the free admission on Wednesdays. The 3 dimensional paintings by Greene are impressive, and there are always displays from other museums to be enjoyed. The diner scene made by a local artist is located near the old entrance, up the steps off State Street. Now to... 更多
We did not see much of a museum here, The comic book exhibit was good, and the film being shown that went along with the chinese pottery was interesting.but there is not much in this museum.
I can't say enough good things about this museum. I agree with Cpeik this is a "jewel of an art museum" and with Corinne S, "Small but Inspiring." While it's not the Met, it's a gem for the city's size. I especially enjoyed the Avalon, the tunnel, the comic book exhibit, and the local art on the second floor. The... 更多
We were pleasantly surprised by the Erie Art Museum! The museum is relatively small but packed with interesting things to see. On our visit, there was beautiful Asian pottery, comic book art, early 19th century drawings, bright paintings by an artist named Joseph Plavcan, and ancient Indian figures. The old building, which houses half of the museum, is also very... 更多
