This is a wonderful trail for a myriad of activities. You will see runners, people walking dogs or riding bikes with kids, even people fishing. Very quiet and peaceful. We use it all 4 seasons though it does not get cleared or plowed when it snows so be warned and wear boots or yaktrax.
Hess field is good for small sporting events and is an ideal place to run around, except for its tick problem. Since Hess field borders a forest, ticks are all over. This dramatically increases the risk of getting Lyme disease.
There are a few different paths you can take to get around. All of them are rather easy. I'm sure it's much prettier in any season other than the winter but we still enjoyed ourselves. It's a great place to bring a dog if you have one!
In the summer, my husband and I like to spend a whole day walking the trail; it's a lot of fun. Sections are mulched, sections are dirt. Be careful of when you go as the trail tends to be muddy for a few days after rain.
