A very nice historical village. Much to see& learn about. Illustrators did a good job showing us how some things were made. Friendly knowledgeable staff (some have heritage here). Well kept property very period realistic.A good place to see&enjoy at your own pace.Would recommend for young or old. They need some roofs... so if you could give a little extra... 更多
There is an entrance fee $11 per person (adult). The village complex consists of 38 buildings. As we entered the Village property, we drove across the Claycomb Covered Bridge. It is a great way to set the mood for our journey back in time. We had a pleasant walk through the Village and I especially liked seeing the uniquely-shaped octagon... 更多
All the buildings there are from the Bedford county area. they were actually buildings in the area that were marked and torn down and reconstructed the way they were. All buildings are from the 1700-1900-area. Pretty neat to see a village like that. Businesses and schoolhouses and a tavern there as well. Must see it if in the area.
Had a great time at old Bedford Village this past weekend. The village town is open with period clothing reenactors showing how life was in the 1800's. The Union and Confederates had their own campsites showing soldier life during the Civil war. Each weekend afternoon had a civil war reenactment between the north and south. Very nice to see, brings... 更多
Very nice little old time village. We were there for the Civil War weekend and it was a lot of fun. Lots to see and do plus they also had a battle. We went dressed in our period clothing so we fit in well. They have lots of buildings set up in that time period and before. Well worth a... 更多
Old Bedford Village is a real hidden treasure. We stopped on an on and off rainy afternoon and the place was deserted, the school groups had left but the re-enactors were there and gave us personal attention. It was great. The buildings were open and we wandered in and out - I loved the General Store on the "honor system".... 更多
Do you love Williamsburg, but get tired of the crowds? Like Williamsburg, but it's a little expensive? Try Old Bedford Village! It was WONDERFUL! Slow, like the time must've been back then -- when we weren't so hurried. HOT -- like the folks back then must've been in all those layers of clothing! The reenacters that were there were knowledgeable... 更多
Very historical and educational. When you walk through the village you actually feel like you are walking through an old village during the civil war era. There were re-enactors who put on demonstrations like churning butter and one guy who was a black smith. Visitors can tour each house and see how things appeared during that era. During the summer... 更多
