The falls are cool and all but the remains of the power house at the bottom of the falls is as cool and weird as it can get. The trail leading down to this wreck is not too bad, but it is a steep descent and in poor weather would not be too much fun. When you get down there... 更多
Take time to walk the trail down to the river if you are up for this....do watch for rattlers & poison oak but this is really the way to see the Falls fully. This place is well loved by locals & is a fun place to share with out of town visitors. It has some wonderful history as seen by... 更多
Great little state park where you can picnic, take a short hike, or just view the falls. A lot closer to Tygh Valley than Wasco, only about 5 miles. Closed a lot during the winter and have found gate locked when it should be open.
I have visited several times over several years on car club runs, and on the Harley. A great picnic stop with lucious green grass, rest stop facilities, tables, and a view of the falls. There is a fence to remind you of the hazard of the White River Canyon and Falls. The park is family friendly but mind your children.
The trail is short, but steep, and the combination of sharp rocks and loose sand could make it challenging for novices or kids 6 and younger. The falls and old buildings are lovely, and there is great spot to wade in the river at the end of the trail. At the top, there are picnic tables, restrooms, and sprinklers to... 更多
We drove out here from Bend, OR on a whim. It is a beautiful drive. It is tucked away off the beaten path, but well worth the visit. The falls are amazing, the water is clear, and the old power station is fascinating. The hike down to the water is very steep. If you are unsteady on your feet I... 更多
Joy and I have been here several times over the years, stopping for a visit before or after a rafting trip in nearby Maupin. The waterfall and river makes a nice contrast to the dry hills surrounding the small park. We play with our cameras, experimenting with different exposure settings. It has green grass and picnic tables and it's free.
This SP is a long way from anything. It is worth a stop if you are already in the area, but I don't think I would make the drive all the way out to this park otherwise (with the possible exception in early spring when flows are high and the weather is cool). It is a fairly small park and... 更多
We visited in mid-March; the park must have just opened for the season. I had seen pictures of White River Falls and couldn't picture the size. The falls are huge, perhaps due to the water levels, and beautiful. We are so glad we stopped! We were the only visitors there on a late Friday afternoon.
