Stopped here at Timberline Lodge for lunch enroute to Portland. Excellent views and enjoyed watching the summer skiing and snowboarding. Had access to the lodge and made the most of our time to look around and enjoy the place.
My wife and I only visited the Lodge itself, so I cannot comment the skiing/snowboarding (it still rather blows my mind that you can go somewhere to ski/snowboard in the middle of July!) or hiking, but visiting the Lodge for the sake of visiting and being up on Mount Hood, that is definitely worth the trip. If it's not cloudy,... 更多
we didnt stay here but took the drive up for a look the drive up is long and winding but beautiful, we were there on a windy day which made standing outside VERY difficult. we walked around the lodge and stopped at the bar for a drink before heading back down the mountain If you have the time do it... 更多
There is a separate review for the hotel part of the lodge, which isn't so good. Ntherr is a movie they play in a loop about the history of the lodge. Also I think the designers couldn't figure out what they wanted, it's like a Gothic castle with pioneer carving and paintings around. Anyway it's a neat, albeit creepy building.
Beware everything closes down early here. We arrived at 3 pm, after a long drive. We wanted to take the kids up the sky lift to get up on the mountain but the lift was closed. They said everything closed at 2pm in the afternoon! People were everywhere, it was so busy. Why would they close at 2 o'clock? We... 更多
Been here before, several years ago, Wanted to share this place with our granddaughter. As is most places built by the WPA, it is grand. Alot of history here. Granted it is better in the winter with the snow. But the view is second to none. What a mountain, and close to Portland. Easy day trip !!!
We came in on a hot Saturday noon for lunch buffet at the Timberline Lodge restaurant and view. The lodge has the rustic flavor as can been seen from the two photos. The lunch is very nice with a good variety of dishes and deserts. The roast beef was excellent and tender and was certain beyond expectation from a buffet... 更多
There is no better way to get up close and personal with the majestic Mt Hood than at the Timberline Lodge, whether taking on the mountain by skis or by hiking boots, taking in the scenery over a meal or while nursing a craft beer, by staying overnight at the lodge, or by supporting the local economy in the gift... 更多
Well worth a trip up the 6 miles from the main road if you're in the area. Great views, interesting history of the lodge build in the 30's and impressive wood and iron work. You can just wander around it (not the bedrooms obv) and get food and drink although we didn't try so can't comment.
We came about 20 years ago and were so glad to be back! The lodge is beautiful and rooms were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and the lodge had great food and accommodations. We skied in May and the weather was beautiful!
