For locals, the Petersen Rock Garden has always been that unique little gem that was slightly in need of repair.....however, recently, the Rock Garden has been updated, fixed, repaired and looks absolutely beautiful! What a lot of work has been put into it! And what a unique place! Whether you are a rock-hound or not, the Gardens will be a... 更多
OK, I've wrote a review before the "renovation" and found it not very enjoyable. Just went back again - at the urging of a visiting relative and found it in the same sad shape. Could be very nice. Maybe weed the walking paths and dust a little in the gift shop/museum at least 1x/mo. Man, I'm gonna try not to... 更多
Pretty cool that someone actually created all of these rock sculptures by hand. Interesting to see all the different types of rocks collected locally. Fun to see the peacocks and chickens roaming free That being said, the property is fairly run down and could use a good weed whacking and mow job. The museum seems like it hasn't been dusted... 更多
In preparation for our vacation, l went to the library for materials. In one of the Oregon tour books I found an article entitled "Oddball Oregon." Peterson's Rock Garden was listed and I put it in our itinerary! Definitely a must see. Yes, it needs some attention to keep it in better condition, but the fact that one human being... 更多
The amount of work that went into the rock sculptures is amazing! True, the museum needs work. There are no labels and things are just disorganized. However, to stroll around the gardens is to witness one man's vision and is certainly worth seeing.
This place is pretty neat.... in a kitchy sorta way. Old school, unique "attraction". This place is one of those, "oh my gosh, that dude did a ton of custom, amazing stuff". Great rocks, structures, and artistic landscaping. Not comparable to "new museums" and such, but this is a crazy, weird, fun place. Check it out.
Visited here as a child, and later with my children. Went recently with my husband, who had never been there. The work that must have gone into this is amazing. It is a little sad to see that people have taken rocks, and damaged the displays. Was more amazing in the past. However, I feel it is still worth seeing,... 更多
Stopped by here on 06/08 to take a journey into the past. Upon entering the property there is a box in which to place your admission fee. It is on the honor system, SO PLEASE BE HONORABLE. After paying the fee you will proceed to the parking lot. There are a couple of rock sculptures located here. You continue onto... 更多
In its heyday this must have been quite a neat attraction. Now it's still somewhat amazing to think about the work that someone put into all of this, but it is definitely on the downhill side of things. Place is clean, but not tidy and things are in need of some repair. Admission on the day we were there was... 更多
