A great place to go walking or biking. If you are so inclined, you can pick apples, peaches and blueberries. It is a fun palce to spend an afternoon.
My wife and I recently drove all through Sauvie Island...how remarkable. The west side of the Island is fantastic if you are looking for a place to live in a county atmosphere. At the wildlife viewing area there is great big nest on one of the power poles where a predator type bird watches over its domain...awesome. We drove by... 更多
Parking passes are $10, I recommend getting one from the little store just over the bridge. We grabbed some fruit at one of the fruit ranches and went to the beach to enjoy some sun and water. The temperature was great. The beach that starts after the pavement ends is clothing optional (FYI). We had a great time.
This super close farm rich island was a beautiful place to take our bikes and enjoy a 12 mile ride through luscious farm land. The only issue we had was that there was not a bike lane but for the most part the drivers seemed to respect the bikes as much as possible. There were a few places to stop... 更多

First, the 'beach' is the river bank and its quite long but very narrow, ending up at a very long nude beach so one can wander into the end of that. Mostly, the area where people park along the nude beach has very large signs telling that... 更多
This is a great way to see how grand and plentiful the Portland area is. The island grows all year around has a great pumpkin patch around Halloween and corn stocks (after the corn has been picked) to buy for decorations. Fresh vegetables to buy and fun things for the kids to do. If you come during the warm season... 更多
Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown? Take your bike and go to Sauvie Island. You will think you drove 100 miles. It is actually only 12 miles from town.
I enjoyed an August Saturday afternoon on Sauvie Island beach area. It was a nice drive and decent beach area. One advice is don't forget that you need to purchase a parking pass. Look online for locations.
so close, so quiet, so calm - this is our favorite place to go for a walk (no, not a drive - a walk!). It is only 10 miles from downtown, a very urban place but as soon as we drive over the small bridge, we are back at least 50 years among farms and woods. Things slow down and... 更多
