I'll edit this review when I've found some history of the bridge. Looks to be from the Depression era, but maybe earlier. Beautiful Art Deco ornamentation makes it certain it's not later. Bridges today are designed so the view is blocked. Here ingenious concrete slats wiz by intentionally allowing visual access. Maybe not safe, but I liked it.
Work on the Yaquina Bay Bridge began on August 1, 1934. The bridge opened on September 6, 1936. The Bridge spans 3223 ft. Take a minute, get out of your car and walk the bridge. Cross it walk under it. Take a moment and just enjoy the beauty in every curve and arch. This is one of my favorite bridges... 更多
This is one of the many bridges along the coast. Views from below the bridge can be had not far from the Oregon Coast Acquarrium. It is a relatively long bridge and high, but I found other bridges along th coast to be much more charming.
While visiting family over the Labor Day weekend, I made the Yaquina Bay Bridge a part of my morning runs. It allows for fantastic views of the harbor and the bar that the boats must cross to reach the open ocean. One morning I saw a group of sea lions working their way into the bay. From the bridge you... 更多
This is really the visual anchor point of the entire bay! Beautiful area and spectacular bridge!! I'm a bridge fan....so perhaps I see more in this than a way across the water.....spectacular views of the entire area! It's even cool when shrouded in FOG.
There's a observation area right after you exit US 101 coming from Newport and heading towards Historic Bayfront. Snap a photo from this side and later at the Historic Bayfront which is only 2 min away you can take a photo from the eastern side of the bridge.
Its a bridge, but its a stunner, great views of it from the harbour and wandering around near Yaquina lighthouse, its worth walking up to, great classic design.
The bridge is central to most of the attractions - close to Nye Beach, the Bayfront, the Aquarium, the Pier, and Science Center. You can't help but take pictures of it.
A short walk to a great view any time of day. Not great on windy days. Parking at either end of the bridge. Sidewalks on either side.
Great area to enjoy all the surrounding beauty and wildlife. Look for nesting birds all around and living under this bridge. Great sunset photos!
