We've enjoyed hiking part or all of this trail and each time it is a pleasure. Whether we walk or jog it, we are refreshed and appreciate the time in nature this trail provides. It is close to town which is a bonus.
Lovely hike that is somewhat challenging. We started at the Ridgetrail trailhead but didn't realize that the hike was longer starting from this vantage point. We hiked 5.2 miles total. Although the view was lovely, I enjoyed the forest just as much- felt like Costa Rica.
We took the shorter, steeper trail up to the top . . . and stopped a few times to catch our breath before it was more permanently taken away by the view from the top. Holy cow! Views for days. Well worth it, and the return trip downward (on the longer, lesser sloped trail) was easier on the knees.
It is a good Trail for hiking and u can get to the top in half a hour, parking is on the bottom of the Trail on the south of Willamette St. Free of entry. very cool

You can either drive or hike up! Great views from the top and it's very close to downtown Eugene. You will not want to miss this!
You see it looming in the distance beyond and within Eugene . . . and when you climb it to the top, you stand on its rocky peak to see 360 degrees all around . . . with the Willamette Valley to the north, and the foothills of both the Coast Range to the west and the Cascade Mountain Range... 更多
It is Eugene after all. This hike is a family favorite. There are several trails to the top so you can go regularly and make new discoveries. This summer a new stone path was created at the more scrabbly part of the top of the butte for a safer, more beautiful experience. It also is intended to keep hikers ON... 更多
A nice 1 mile loop to the top and back that winds up and over through forest and rock and ends with a breathtaking view of the towns of Springfield and eugene and the Willamette valley. Easy enough for most to complete and the trail is kept up nice.
