The flowers are so beautiful and the grass invites comfort. Pathways provide benches to ponder on, while birds and nature moves about.It smells of fresh blooms. A picnic there is timeless and evokes questions about those who have come before to enjoy this wonderful space in time.
We live on the edge of Hendricks Park, and take walks in it almost daily. There is a large network of trails in and around the park, through both flower gardens and beautiful woodlands. There has been a lot of storm damage in the park the last few years and the city has had a budget shortage so the plants do not always look well watered. We contribute money the park upkeep and walk there monthly and there is always something of interest growing there, even in winter,
This is a must see place when the flowers are in bloom. The large flowing green lawn surrounded by bright and cheery flowers is a perfect place for picnicking or a romantic escape from the city bustle. Lovely park with great flowers and plenty of hiking trails. Ok to walk to from the OU campus but a car or bike would be best.
