The kids always enjoy feeding the fish at the hatchery! A gorgeous walk with beautiful buildings and rose garden. The interpretive center is wonderful and it's fun to see the sturgeon at the viewing area. It's like a nice little museum but totally free!
Worth visiting, whether you have 30 minutes or several hours to spend. Great views, informative tours and interesting fish ladder viewing areas.
Good to see what president FD Roosevelt started to get the US out of the depression and start building the dam. I was impressed by it and the workers build the total construction in 4 years. Super to visit when you're in the neighborhood
We stumbled upon the Lock and Dam while exploring the Columbia Gorge. Who knew you could visit a power plant? It was very interesting, loved to see the fish in the underwater passages going up the river. So glad we stopped.
Dams are just an amazing display of engineering prowess and resolve! The dam itself it colossal and provides quite a large amount of electricity... 更多
This attraction is FREE! What a fun, educational & scenic stop for a family outing. After visiting the lock and dam, check out the nearby Bonneville fish hatchery: there’s a gift shop & espresso bar. Kids (and adults) can feed the giant rainbow trout that are just inches away from your fingers. And there’s a shark-size (endangered) white sturgeon (or... 更多
So we stopped at the dam visitor center to use the restroom for the young one. We didn't realize it was back a ways via drive over the locks and power plant! Worth the short drive in. Visitor center had tons of info as well as a front row look at fish coming up the steps via 7mph water (learned... 更多
Spend an hour or two here and learn about how to make power out of water. Interesting exhibits, fun to watch the fish thru the viewing windows and cool to see the fish in the fish ladder.
We were on our way to the river cruise and had some extra time on our hands and came upon this treasure. We were able to see the locks on motion and cross the bridge to the dam. The amount of water coming out of the Bonneville Dam was mind blowing! The fish ladder was fascinating. It is something worth... 更多
