Every time we visit Brookings we have to visit many of the beaches in the S.L. Boardman State Park. Sometimes it just for the sunsets and views other times it's to hike along the beach. Some of the best and easiest hikes are along here. One of our favorites starts at the Cape Ferrelo overlook. Looking out on the headlands... 更多
Samuel H Boardman is a long stretch of scenic views and beaches. There are several overlooks to view the ocean, beaches and natural bridges. We noticed a few trials here and there but didn't partake in any of them due to time restrictions.
Lots of moderate and strenuous hiking trails but the beauty of coastal forest and ocean front cannot be beat. This is my go to vacation spot especially when I'm looking to recharge and get away from everyone and everything.
Drive from Brookings headed North. Stopped and enjoyed the views along the way. Did a few small hikes down to the coast and had beautiful weather.
As a photographer I was keen to visit this area. It is quite beautiful, with rocky headlines, sandy secluded beaches and lots of steep cliffs covered in trees. We did a big hike from Indian Sands to China Beach but unfortunately a lot of it was along the main road (which is fast and noisy!). There are some great views... 更多
We traveled with a 5th wheel, so we couldn't stop at all the overlooks, but the ones we stopped at were great. The visitor's center as we entered Oregon were helpful on which ones to stop at with our trailer. Lone Ranch and Arch Rock were two of the best.
This is definitely one of the gems of the Oregon coastline. Many pull outs where you can both view the coast from a short walk across a parking lot or hike to get closer. All in all a must see if you're anywhere near this beautiful area.
The Samuel Boardman corridor along the Oregon Coast was so awesome!! It was some of the most beautiful coast line of the whole Oregon coast that we saw during our road trip from north to south. We stopped at all the viewpoints and hiked to see all the amazing formations and coves. Would love to come back and backpack the... 更多
Not a lot of facilities- many places are just a dirt pullout and a trail. A couple places add picnic tables and pit toilets. We loved the trails, though not all might. They vary a lot, sometimes along the road, on the beach (if not high tide), through thick woods or tall grass. Some steep spots, some ledges people may... 更多
The Oregon coast is beautiful and pristine, unspoiled like a lot of the California coastline. I never tire of visiting these beaches. And, after a stressful day, nothing beats a drive along the Samuel H. Boardman coastline.
