This monument was beautiful! The Rangers were very informative and enjoyed talking with them. Great views from the top. Thanks for having this open for public viewing.
My family was visiting put-in-bay over the Labor Day week I am not too found of heights but we all went up the monument. It was a clear day so you could see for miles, great for taking pictures, you could even see Canada. You had to go up 36 steps to the elevator and it was $5.00 to go... 更多
This stop should take no more than 1/2 hour to one hour, but is worth the time. The park rangers are extremely knowledgeable and almost trip over themselves to be helpful. Great view of Canada and the other surrounding islands. Make sure to go to the Visitor's Station for a short movie and informative displays.
The mon usent is situated right on the edge of the town to Put In Bay and commemorates the War of 1812. It is an impressive column that you can see from the Ferry as you approach the island, and also commemorates those who lost their lives and who were injured during the battle led by Commodore Perry.
