Blackhand Gorge is a must see for anyone who loves nature. You can walk, bike or run on the paved trail. You do have to stay on the paved trail or the marked dirt trails as this is a nature preserve. Its beautiful year round but especially nice when its hot because the trees form a wonderful canopy over most... 更多
I've done this stretch quite a few times because it's convenient and absolutely gorgeous! Easy in and out at the livery. It's about 1 1/2 hours from Brownsville to the gorge and 3 hours if you put in at Staddens Bridge. There's a couple shallow spots that give you a little trouble but not bad at all and the views... 更多
Our family visited this park for the 2nd time in the last couple of years to get some awesome family photo's for my Christmas cards. Great bit of history and nature. Not very easy for wheelchairs. Bike and hiking trails. Free! Fishing and hunting permitted with state licenses. On outside of city. Highway close. Free place to take the family. Picnic areas. Can rent canoes to go down the river.
My wife and I decided to check out Black Hand Gorge on a whim. We are so glad we did. We only went down as far as the railroad bridge but we can't wait to go back and finish the entire thing. We took a combination of paved walkway along the river and hiking trails to the left. We passed... 更多
We actually did the walk here earlier this year but I did not write a review. Amazing picturesque view of the river and the gorge. We even saw an eagle flying over the river. Very beautiful and very serene walk. Bug spray and hiking shoes are recommended.
The bike path here is amazing! There are cliff walls on both sides of you throughout the trail. This is a paved path along the river. Very scenic. Mostly flat.
