The community of New Concord, OH has put together a tremendous museum, celebrating the lives of John and Annie Glenn. If you're traveling through the area on I-70, don't miss the opportunity to reflect on their lives by enjoying the film, and tour through John's boyhood home ... you will be grateful that you stopped.
We never know where the next American hero will come from. However, those who would try to bet on such things would never have picked New Concord, Ohio - mostly because of its size. New Concord is a college town, and a small one at that, located east of Columbus. Main Street is about it when it comes to commerce.... 更多
The house tour guide was Mrs. Glenn, "Johnny's" mother and the date was August 5, 1944. She did an excellent job of portraying what was happening in the life of the Glenn family at that time and pointed out all the modern conveniences she was so grateful to have. It was a great walk back in time. The museum tour... 更多
This home is where astronaut John Glenn grew up. The tour is a good balance between the historic home, learning how people lived in the past and the history of John Glenn's career. Very reasonably priced. If you've gone before, plan to go again next year as they are going to update the home to be like it was in... 更多
I stopped expecting this to be a roadside marker and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this site. We found this was the actualy home of John Glenn and it was a staffed home with guides that provided tours. We were greeted promptly and paid a small fee for a tour. Since there was already one in progress we... 更多
This is a must see very educational very well done. The rumor is they're going to convert the house to 1962 next year. This is when John made history and was the first person ever to orbit the Earth.
Full of fascinating facts about John Glen. His life in New Concord. The house is shown by his mother (actor) as if you were back in 1937.
We visited this museum on June 20. The parking is at the back of the house. You will first see a short movie. Then they give you a guided tour of the house. The rooms you will see, will give you an idea how they lived in the 1930's. Upstairs the rooms explain some periods of their lives (astronaut, soldier... 更多
This is the John Glenn's original house as a boy. We had a living museum tour and it was so much more interesting than just walking through by yourself. Our tour guide was being presented as John Glenn's mother and she was fantastic! You are much more involved when it is told like a story back in May of 1932!... 更多
