We had been out for a walk in another national trust location (Coleshill Estates) and thought we'd take a detour to the barn. Well worth it. Simply spectacular on the inside. Huge in scale and with good information (undercover so not such an issue if raining) this is well worth finding.
This is well worth a visit. A lot of people don't even know that it exists. If your local you can incorporate a walk to visit this wonderful ancient barn. If driving there is parking spaces right outside. The site has information for you to read telling you various things about the barn & what it was used for in... 更多
The barn is amazing as well as the surrounding area, informative posters and sheltered area. If you appreciate old architecture this is fabulous. If you don't, you might find it boring. There are no other activities, shop or anything else so eat and go to the toilet before you get there If you visit on spring, visit the nearby bluebell... 更多
If you're driving past, stop and look at this. Seriously. It's huge and (effectively) free. It'll take a few minutes. I wouldn't say it's worth going out of your way for, but it has a lot of space to let the kids run around if they're getting tired of the car.
An impressive 13th century barn. You can walk in and around. On its own it's probably not worth visiting, however, if you include a visit to the nearby Badbury Clump with amazing bluebell fields (and a nice mountain bike track!), the Uffington White Horse, and the Buscot Park, it makes for a very nice day trip.
The barn is massive, considering it dates back over 700 years. Just the number of stone tiles is impressive on its own, but going inside gives an idea of the amount of grain, etc. that would have been stored. Less than a mile north is Badbury Clump which is stunning when the bluebells are out in later April / early... 更多
Fascinating piece of medievil architecture that is impressive in its size.In a lovely surrounding this tithe barn is a glimpse of history dating back to the 13th century. Team it with a walk at nearby Badbury for a few hours of outdoors enjoyment.
Looked at things to do on our way home from Marlborough, Wilts. Due to the time of year & a lot of places are still closed, but this place is anytime during daylight hours. Owned by National trust a 13th Century Barn of Cathedral size in the grounds of a Manor House, it has a licence to hold weddings, ideal... 更多
