This is the second time I've been to the Salutation Gardens in Sandwich. I visited in early Spring with a friend and jumped at the opportunity to revisit with another. Yesterday (July 27th) was overcast, unlike the warm Spring day in late April, but it didn't matter. The gardens were as beguiling as before. Of course, as the seasons had... 更多
My wife and I visited this lovely garden on a hot summers day. The gardens are quite large, enough for a two hour leisurely visit. There are numerous themed gardens and a lovely meadow with bee hive! The house, which is in lovely condition, provides a great backdrop to the garden and the numerous pictures you will certainly take. The... 更多
The garden is looking wonderful this year, --best ever --and remarkable because 3 years ago it was totally washed away by flooding !! Lutyens building and garden structure and lovely "modern" relaxed planting, beautifully realised. Very atmospheric, romantic and relaxing. Lots to see if you love gardens and plants. Helpful and welcoming staff, good little shop and tea room plus... 更多
Fab place to visit. If Your local, sign up for a yearly ticket. Well worth it for £12 and you can go back over and over again, just for a bit of tranquility or to read a book.
The Salutation gardens is a beautiful place to visit, if you are in Sandwich. Hidden away just back from the river near the carp ark. The gardens are stunning, well laid out full of colour with beautiful sculptures buried in with the planting. Wheel chair accessible, the gravel is a little hard to push on but the grass is much... 更多
I have visited The Salutation Gardens several times over the years since they opened to the public. Today's visit was a feast for the eyes, the range of colour and texture was a joy. Wildlife is positively encouraged it's a lovely garden to visit.
After a long drive, we wanted refreshments before visiting the garden. We went to the tea room opposite the hotel and we were told it was closed. We went into the hotel to see if we could get a coffee and someone was having a long arguement about their bill. Therefore, we walked back into town to look for refreshments,... 更多
We visited on an overcast Tuesday afternoon and was good to see the restoration work carried out after the floods. The planting in the Borders is superb and such a variety of plants to fill every area. Obviously a lot of work but still a way to go. Good to explore but only a couple of hours and definitely enough... 更多
WOW. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The sunny day made everything look even better. A super place for garden lovers but also a pleasant walkabout with ample seating for those seeking some peace and quiet. Fabulous planting with a great range of interesting stock and knowledgeable volunteers to advise you. Metal plant sculptures which you can purchase are dotted amongst the... 更多
This is one of the premier gardens in Kent and a must see for anyone sensible enough to add sandwich down on their list of historic towns to visit. Plenty of history abounds but this garden is the attraction to visit and enjoy above all. Parking is at the door by way of the public car park.
