An hour or so well spent! Tremendous variety of exhibits from seaside memorabilia to iron age relics. The building itself has plenty of history (two exhibitions are in the old prison cells!) and the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A real asset to the town and well worth a visit - and not only on a rainy day!
This museum is of the history of Margate , also we saw artifacts going back before the birth of Christ.there are exibits on the seaside, police, wartime Margate.Paddle steamers,& theTheatre Royal, there is more but I cannot remember them all. They do guided tours one & half hours well spent & the guides are all friendly & knowledgeable.
Great local museum with worksheets for children that actually added to the experience for all of us as it forced us to look properly at things and not to rush. Plenty to see and knowledgeable, friendly volunteers. We visited with our grandchildren aged 11 and 9.
Good local museum, lots of local history and the volunteers are more than happy to tell you all about it. The woman taking the money was very nice too. Hope this keeps going for years, its these kind of places that have to be kept, in a lovely location too. No lifts, stairs only.
Great local museum, with loads to see and read. Joint ticket with Tudor house at £2.50 is great value. All set in the old police station and town hall. The volunteers are there to help and provide insight.
Such good value and so interesting. A real mix of seaside history, wartime memorabilia, transport info and some local baddies this is a great find. It is not open every day so you need to pick your day and it can easily be missed. The volunteers are amazing and so informative and friendly, many of whom have their own part... 更多
This museum is a little gem in the heart of the old town, it's an old police station and has the cells and also a courtroom on the upper floor. There's exhibits covering crime, transport, entertainment and wartime Margate, and each cell and room has some fantastic little snippets of Margate through the ages. We were shown around the ground... 更多
After walking around for a bit wondering what to do with my sister and young niece, we stumbled across the Margate Museum. We put our heads in and was greeted by two volunteers and was informed it was only £1.50 for adults and free for children. This seemed great value and my niece was them giving a clipboard, with questions... 更多
The kids were interested for a bit specially the police cell, cheap to get in, and lots of old Victorian stuff for the grownups. A good way to spend an hour when its too hot or too wet to be outside.
