We had a great lunch here before walking the 4.5 mile Fritham Loop. Would definitely recommend both! Lots of parking nearby, lovely garden, delicious fresh crab salad, excellent, friendly service. Lovely old traditional building. My only regret is that they hadn't kept the ice cream kiosk open when we returned from the walk - we and (guessing by the number... 更多
Excellent beer, service and ploughmans. The beer is straight out of the barrel, the garden is great with amazing views and the food is of high quality. The pub has great walks, bike rides or horse rides from the door.
It's in a gorgeous part of the forest with many beautiful walks in the surrounding area. We have been many times and it is always a treat. Good selection of drink , food is awesome and always varied. Staff are lovely too. It's a simple pleasure of life to sit in the beer garden looking out over the valley. The... 更多
This place was a brilliant 'find' and so unexpected. A perfect location for forest walks and an ideal place to eat after some gentle forest walking. The fact that it offers only salad meals was a definite attraction; similarly the fact that I could get draft Aspall cider, too. The pork pie salad was the best I have tasted in... 更多
Having read the excellent reviews we decided to give it a try....we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We chose to dine outside and there were blankets and heaters to keep off the evening chill. The food was excellent, local spouses and flavoursome. My husband had the belly pork and I had the seafood spaghetti. The... 更多
The Royal Oak has a friendly feel to it and this is enhanced by the warm welcome from the attentive staff. We have visited often and know that an open log fire is a feature in colder weather. The food is unfussy and well priced. The surrounding area is one to take visiting friends when showing what rural life may... 更多
Mixed weather during a forest walk meant we wanted to find a warm dry pub with light snacks. Although small inside there are several rooms where we all managed to find a table for 8. Great selection of proper beer here as well as the lager fizz. Slightly disappointing that they did not do soup apart from in the winter.... 更多
We always have a lunch here when we visit the New Forest. Had the hot roll ploughmans and sat in the nice sized garden. Plus a pint of one of the locals beers.
Went here on a recommendation from a friend and the place did not disappoint. Really friendly, warm welcome. Nice cold cuts and the pork pies looked particularly good. A fine selection of country ales behind the bar and a log fire to boot. Plenty of space outside and nice and cosy inside. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended!
