Beautiful home with lovely flowers surrounding it. The tour starts in the carriage hour. There is a wide array of memorabilia of Dover with exhibits on World War 2, the canal, and of course the Reeves family. The tour of the mansion is guided and takes roughly 45 minutes. The parking lot is smaller and we got a little lost... 更多
When I was in high school we did a trip to Reeves. It is still one of my fondest memories. The guided tour explained the history of the house and family. The carriage house was gorgeous! The Reeves family started the steel mill that is just behind this house. Also the home next to it was their daughter's home; it... 更多
I am not much into museums but THIS one was very interesting--how the very rich lived years ago. We had a private tour (just 2 of us and the tour guide) July 23. The house is gorgeous and the guide knew a lot about the house, how they lived, etc. Of particular interest was the "fainting" couches. They were low... 更多
Had been waiting to have the right time to visit this home during Christmas, to see it all decorated for the season. And it didn't let me down, it was so beautifully decorated. If you get a chance to go here don't miss it you won't be sorry. Lot's of original artifacts from the reeve's family. The tour guides are... 更多
We went with our Century Homes Association Group which numbered around 20 members. When the reservations were made, we were to have a room. It did not work out AND it was an open house with singers in the attic to entertain the guests. Our guide, Phil Fischio, a high school student, was WONDERFUL! He kept our large group together... 更多
What a wonderful addition to our stay in Amish country. Our docent was knowledgable and told many interesting family stories while describing the beautiful decor and furnishings. The home was decorated for Christmas which added to its beauty. Well worth the trip.
The home is exquisitely furnished, in mostly original pieces. Wall coverings and woodwork are outstanding. This home is better done than even Stan Hywett and on the same level as The Biltmore, just smaller. Guides are extremely knowledgeable about the home and its origins, furniture and fixtures. Don't miss the carriage house - recently re-done and full of interesting pieces.
