Each time we come to Keswick we visit the stone circle, it's only a 25 min walk from Castlerigg Farm Campsite where we stay so it's our usual evening strole. It's a piecful place with magnificent views and the mood changes depending on the weather. A place to reflect and take a little time for yourself and gather your thoughts.
Excellent place to go just under a mile outside Keswick, in the Lake District. Easy free parking just by the road and outstanding views of the mountains and glens below. Better in the early morning or late afternoon, when it is not packed with visitors.

Beautiful, scenic stone circle not far from Keswick on way to Threlkeld. Beautiful at sunset, and pretty much deserted when we were there at that time, so some fab photo opportunities of the stones and the stunning views. Glad we came!

The setting is dramatic with mountains behind and valleys below. The site is much less crowded that some of the more famous stone circles but that allows one to experience... 更多
We walked to Castlerigg from Keswick and were able to see evidence of December`s floods all along the route. The stone circle is imposing and surrounded by spectacular views of the fells and mountains. There is not much information to be seen, just a few information boards at the entrance to the field.
It is a bit tricky to find but if you park your car somewhere between the A66 and A591 with a couple of minutes of walk you can find this lovely spot. You can find beautiful views and tranquillity.
