This superb narrow gauge railway is located in the Northern Pennines. The narrow steep access roads may be a bit daunting to some drivers but choose a fine sunny day and the reward is the arrival at Alston. Here is the station and headquarters of this lovely railway. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dine in their station cafe then... 更多

We went on the 30th so the Halloween trains were running. The stations and train were decorated and there were lots of dressed up characters! There were also some colouring activities and goody bags which were great as we had a bit of a wait for the train. They were diesel hauled that day which we didn't know, apparently steam... 更多

Visited the railway on a very cold and wintry day. We were greeted by the very enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers who help to run the railway. We went on this twice whist staying at Haggs Bank. You can take your dog (s) as well, a brilliant nostalgic ride through stunning countryside. We oppted to walk back due to the abundance of wild raspberries. The little cafe on the station has good food and it is worth while visiting the the Hub museum.
Thank you so much for your comments. Haggs Bank is a great base for the area isn't it! We hope... 更多
