Located next to the city center in the Calzada de los Frailes, on the way to the Convento San Bernardino, this small albeit interesting museum is about the cacao and chocolate history. There are just two rooms with pics and artifacts which illustrate the cacao process to be turned into chocolate and a room where locals are pressing chocolate balls... 更多

It is close to the town center. You get some introduction about the cacao to chocolate process in a small room with pics and artifacts before to move inside another room where you can see local ladies shaping small chocolate balls with their hands. You can take a couple of pics but there is not much more to do. When... 更多

We stopped in as we had 20 mins to kill before getting on ado bus out of town. The guide spoke 3 different languages on our tour which takes about 10 mins. The place is on a quiet street away from the hustle of town. Just visiting the street for a couple of photos was worth it. This tour is... 更多

We went here without a tour. We managed to get some information from the host who spoke little English (along with our little Spanish). We saw how the chocolate was hand made and bought a few boxes as gift for friends at home. Worth the visit.

We wandered in to escape the rain and we are glad we did! We were immediately greeted by enthusiastic and friendly staff who offered us a free tour. We were told about the history of Cacao and its importance to the Mayans. We got to see Cacao being processed into chocolate and then the best bit, a tasting session. We... 更多

The guide in this cacao mecca was captivating, intelligent and multi-lingual. I learned a lot during the presentation of the mayan history of cacao and this ethically aware organisation's commitment to clean and nutritious food and the non-hierarchichal structure of the production chain ensuring a fair deal for its Mayan producers. The information all came free, from the heart and... 更多

My husband and I got a private tour of this cute little place we happened upon while touring Valladolid on our own. Unfortunately, the guide spoke almost no English, and our Spanish is not great, so we didn't catch it all, but the tour was still fun. It got better when she took us into the second room, where the... 更多

Our anniversary was topped off as we enjoyed the cacao history and tasting experience. Truly a gem right in the heart of Valladolid.

These ladies are warm and welcoming with no pressure. The tour is short and sweet and fun. We saw the chocolates being rolled before our eyes. It's a historical Mayan tradition.

We were walking on the Calzada de los Frailes on our way to the Convento San Bernardino when we saw the chocolate sign and got in. We immediately joined a free tour without knowing what was happening! The tour is quick yet interesting. The degustation was definitely a highlight for the kids (and the parents). We got the last box... 更多
