Be sure to catch one of traditional music shows at the Louisbourg Playhouse. The playhouse itself was built for a movie that was filmed in the Fort and then moved to this location. It's an interesting theatre in the round construction. It's a small venue so there are no bad seats.
This is a lovely little theatre, created by recycling a Disney film set of Shakespeare's Globe and putting a roof on it. We went to see the Celtic Drive concert and left at the interval. The members of the band were good musicians. Their choice of music was, at times, a bit dodgy but the big problem was the sound.... 更多
The Louisbourg Playhouse runs most evenings and has some interesting talent on display. Some is local and others are more well known. Volunteers run the Playhouse and do an admirable job. I would suggest calling to ascertain when the ticket office is open. This is an excellent venue for watching any performance and the sound is quite good. For a... 更多
If you would like to hear and feel the music and charm of Cape Breton, this is the place to go. We just had a short walk to the Playhouse and were thoroughly entertained for just a little over $20.00 each. The theater inside is perfect for watching the stage from any seat you may have...there's a balcony also which... 更多
We didn't know about this theatre until we walked by after dinner. The music emanating from the building made us stop and listen. It was great!

Not a big crowd (25 max) which was a shame but we enjoyed the singing, the complimentary tea/coffee and oatcakes (which were more like shortbread) at the interval and the general friendliness of Nova Scotia. A lovely evening - please go if... 更多
we got lucky and Men of the Deeps were there that night, we had been in the Miners museum in Glace Bay earlier so it was perfect timing for us. Couldn't believe we could still get tickets that late. Very informative and entertaining concert and reasonably priced.
In the area, and with not much else going on, we were told to go see a concert in the playhouse. I am not a fan of di-diddley fiddle stuff, but I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Alas, there wasn't a big crowd in which meant that we talked to many others during the interval which was good,... 更多
We asked at the Louisbourg Fortress reception desk if they could recommend any entertainment for the evening. The hostess looked in her book to see what was playing and her enthusiastic reply of "Your in Luck, J P Cormier" is playing at the Playhouse sold us on the spot. He puts on a great entertaining show of song and stories.... 更多
