Just a few minutes from Port Renfrew, on the Juan de Fuca trail, Botanical Beach is a nice little stop for nature lovers. A short looped hike takes you to the beach, as well as Botany Bay. Both are much better at low tide, but don't expect anything thrilling, as this is more about small aquatic life and nice views... 更多
My husband (70 + years old) and I (65 +) walked the loop. It was a moderate hike - make sure you wear hiking shoes. It wasn't raining but there's a lot of puddles that will make your shoes wet. Good idea to bring hiking poles. We used branches we found on the trail. There's a lot of rocky area... 更多
We wanted to hike a few miles and found this terrific trail right outside of Port Renfrew. You can hike down and back or do a loop that is about 2 miles. You walk through rain forest, along the rugged coast and then back through a wooded area to the parking lot. There are bathrooms along the trail but no... 更多
We travelled in November. A great path with lots of bathrooms. You go to a bay first with amazing waves and pools. A short walk over to the beach was cut short due to a bear on the beach. We took a look and wondered back to the bay. Great for all ages. A bit of a hill coming out... 更多
After reading all the great reviews and a recommendation by the owner of our B&B, we decided to go to Botanical Beach Provincial Park. It was absolutely amazing walking along the path through a rain forest and ending up at the ocean’s edge. We first hiked to Botany Bay where we watched a bald eagle circle around a small island.... 更多
This was beautiful and I enjoyed seeing the old growth rainforest and heavily moss covered paths down to the ocean. I was a little intimidated by the trip down because it seems like it might be harder to climb back up but it wasnt too long and wasnt a bad short hike out of the bay. I considered it a... 更多
We took the trail on an overcast day. The trail was damp but well kept. It took us over an hour to do the loop. The beach and tide pools are awesome. Must return on a brighter day for more pictures. The hike is moderate ability with some stairs. Many people were enjoying it with us.
This is not a very long walk. It took us about three hours as we stopped several times to admire the tidal pools with their inhabitants and the gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. Bring good hiking shoes if you intend to walk on the rocks with low tide! We saw people with sandals and runners sliding and injuring themselves.... 更多
Beautiful place to spend a couple of hours, best experienced during low tide...just check online the tidal times for Port Renfrew...you can get them for 7 days..The tidal pools are a very unique thing to see,...the landscape on the beach with the waves crashing on the rocks is spectacular and the easy hike is peacefull in the lush forest ...we... 更多
Fantastic location, great for pictures. Make sure and check the tidal schedules (posted in the parking lot) Some areas not accessible during high tide.
