Kept seeing the signs as I was driving around with my daughter to various stores. My curiosity led us there. It is a historic settlement from early German, Movarian settlers. There is a partial fort, gardens, restored church and other buildings. Trails for walking and a museum.
At Bethabara Park you can learn a lot of history about early Winston-Salem. There is also an excellent visitors center, plus it's a great place for a picnic. There are lots of trails around the park, through the woods, and over a stream. It's a great place to get your family out of doors. And you might learn something, too.
Educational way to spend the afternoon in Winston-Salem. Inexpensive with considerable history available in a small area. Understanding what happened here over 200 years ago helps put USA history in perspective.

There is a welcome center with more information as well as plaques near some of the more important features. If you are... 更多
Nice park, a good visitor center with staff that provide background and history. There are trails and some interesting historic structures -- most are not original, but a nice area for walking.
