Be sure to make it out to John Rock for some spectacular views! It's not the easiest 5.5 mile loop with all the leaves on the ground but we saw people of all ages out there enjoying themselves - and some dogs too! Even crossed paths with some mountain bikers. Day trip to see the Autumn tree colors and a close look at the Looking Glass Falls with the dogs. We had a great time and the area is beautiful. Very easy access to the Falls and for those that cannot climb down the stairs the Falls are visible from the road.
Our time in PNF was spent at the Mt Pisgah Campground while we were traveling along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed for one night with advanced reservations. Everyone seems to head to the Blue Ridge Parkway but we headed to the Pisgah National Forest. It was the middle of the week and not crowded.
