In the small village of Pinehurst this is a must see. Take time to go to the local library in the heart of the village and in the back is a wonderful display of the villages history. Friendly & courteous staff that will assist in any way. If you wish for a photo from the past of Pinehurst, golf courses, Donald Ross, they have it and will provide a copy at nominal cost!
This is a fabulous spot to browse and view the history of Pinehurst and Donald Ross. Just so much to take in while you are there.
Definitely take some time out of your day to pop into the archives. Great overview of history of Pinehurst. Curator came over and answered our questions. You will to be disapointed.
Go for an appreciation of the local history and culture; it is so much more than the golf (although it is an important facet of the museum to be sure). Had an excellent docent with the manners of a wise & gentle teacher and the mind of a scientist.
It was recommended we stop at the Pinehurst Library to visit the Tufts Archives. We stopped and were not disappointed. If you like visiting places with good local history, this is a good spot right in beautiful downtown Pinehurst, North Carolina!
This was my second visit to Tufts. The first for a Donald Ross reception last October and this time for my own pleasure. My husband is a member of the Donald Ross Society and we spent an hour or so revisiting the photos, memorabilia and speaking with Audrey. This library is phenomenal!
Fantastic place to look at golf history. We stayed for over an hour and could have stayed longer. The staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming.
