I stumbled upon this geyser-like fountain sometime ago while hiking in the nearby Pisgah National Forest. An interesting water feature. Certainly worth a stop. The spray feels great on a hot summer day. Good photo op. Also, a nice place to have a picnic.
I had no intentions of stopping here, except that we had missed our original location of where we wanted to go , and I found this sweet little stop instead. Fountain was running just fine and there was a beautiful stream just behind it with a picnic stop. This makes for a great resting place either before going into the... 更多
No signs really help getting you there... Almost turned around several times... finally found it but we were not very impressed... wish there had been more info on the geyser and how it worked... just looked like a impressive fountain
My wife and I live 20 minutes from this little gem of a park. We like to take a picnics there. There is a rushing trout stream running along one side of the park and then the Geyser is centrally located in the park. The geyser itself shoots 30-40 feet in the air. It is very beautiful in the winter... 更多
When it is turned on, it's an impressive sight. The geyser is 80 feet high and a train can often be seen (and photographed) behind it. Pleasant park to walk around and a stream for rock-hopping. Good for kids (when it's on!) It's disappointing when it's off.
The Geyser is actually a man made one. It is still quite interesting as the geyser isn't based on an electrical pump, but gets it pressure from a gravity feed. The park area is wide and open, with little traffic the afternoon I was there. You travel a two lane road to reach the park and it progresses through woods... 更多
Geocaching brought us here! Very interesting man made geyser. Enjoyed reading about it. Even though we knew it was here, somehow seeing it was still very surprising. I would recommend this drive to anyone traveling in the area. There is also a Civil War Trails sign on the property that describes engagement on April 20 and 21, 1865 in which... 更多
This is a really cool, man-made geyser in the middle of no where. It's about 10 minutes away from Old Fort, but the drive is a beautiful one that follows the railroad tracks through the mountains. The geyser is in the middle of a large grassy park that is a perfect picnic spot or place for dogs and children to... 更多
