If you make the trip to the island it's definitely a must-do so you can check it off your list. It's a nice little lighthouse with a boardwalk from the little parking lot to the light house. The house to the right is very pretty with neat trees and the landscaping with flowers adds a nice touch. No, you can't...
We love visiting Ocracoke. Quaint little community. Beautiful scenery. Nice restaurants, good music, great for families and couples too. One of my favorite things is at night there are so many stars out. Almost unbelievable. Everyone should visit Ocracoke at least once. We go at least once a year. The Ferry ride alone is worth the trip.
Nothing fancy about this place but it's great to see and a good leg stretcher. The town is packed with tourists this time of year and it was great to get away from the crowd as there were very few people at this place.
One of the oldest lighthouses still in use. Not tall and you can't climb it. Today it was not open, but we have been there when a volunteer would give some history and let you look inside. Parking is very limited, only about 4 spots plus 1 handicap. Go by and mark it off your list.
Even though this lighthouse is not as majestic as Cape Hatteras, Bodie Island or Currituck - it still is quaint in its on right. If you love lighthouses - don't miss this one - it sets back in a very rural island setting and is still worth seeing and taking pictures of.
Other than seeing another iconic NC lighthouse. This was a let down. No one there to talk about it, nor could you go in. Parking lot VERY small. I wouldn't make this the only reason to come to Ocracoke.
