Very impressed with the way they captured the early settlers and how they progressed over the years. Loved the fact that you can take your time and not feel rushed.
As a local I had never visited the museum. I took my 12 year old and 9 year old to spend an afternoon. I was so impressed with the amount of history of our local area. The museum is well laid out and self-paced. My boys had thought this would be boring (A MUSEUM for fun?!), but had a blast... 更多
I really enjoyed this museum. It is a self guided tour all about the area and the people that settled it. My friend wasn't going to go because it was hard for him to walk so they loaned him a wheelchair to use. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They have Native American relics with lots of information. The replica... 更多
Mt. Airy is all you ever wanted to know about Andy Griffin, but this museum is not to be missed. I am a museum buff but can't remember when I have enjoyed one as much. Make no mistake, this is a serious museum with excellent displays, characterized by good exposition, a well-thought-out progression focusing on historical, natural and cultural aspects... 更多
This is a very good hometown museum to get an idea about what Mt. Airy looked like over 100 years ago, and it is an excellent place for a historical educational trip for children.
This is a great museum in Mt. Airy. The admission charge is minimal and the museum offers a lot to see in its four floors on display. Once on the top floor, you can walk up higher for great views and you will be in the highest spot of Mt. Airy. The museum covers the history of the region from... 更多
It covered the history of the whole area from early human habitation to modern day. Very well done exhibits. The information about the Chang Siamese twins was fascinating if bizarre.
This is one of the absolute best museums of regional culture and life I've ever seen. But give yourself plenty of time to really take it all in as there's lots to see. Lots to read as you meander through several floors. No, it's not the Smithsonian; but it's every bit as extensive in its own right and local/regional scope.... 更多
I'll just say first that I'm not a museum buff at all- I have somewhat of a limited tolerance for that much history, but this one had enough variety of exhibits and some hands on stuff for the kids that I liked it a little bit. There was enough actually stuff to look at (as opposed to pictures and writings)... 更多
