Bring your hiking shoes and prepare for a walk on the wild side. The trails are clearly marked and are an easy enough trek with beautiful views . HOWEVER, keep your children close! Some of the lookout points are NOT child friendly and can be dangerous! With that said, once we established some safely guidelines we really enjoyed our afternoon... 更多
We walk thru the trails at Linville falls. There were 3 different views of the falls. Tails are easy to follow and the views are worth the walk. There is parking available at different areas, and directional signs not to get lost. Great experience.
The Linville falls are a beautiful spot for hiking and getting some great pictures. The trails can be accessed from the national park or the national forest parking areas. The national forest parking area can be accessed even when Blue Ridge parkway is closed. The hike to the various viewing areas is moderately difficult, requiring some climbing over rocks or... 更多
Be prepare to walk. Some areas are pretty steep but it's worth it if you can make the hike. There is a dirt and gravel road up to the very top of the mountain, kinda rough in spots and would not recommend using a little car that is low to the ground to get to the top. The view from... 更多
There are 3 "climbs" - easy, medium and difficult. Everyone said to take the difficult climb - it was worth it. Only if you are a mule. It was extremely difficult - up the mountain, over large roots and rocks, etc. The view was beautiful but you better wear sturdy hiking boots.
We love this hike and the views from both the bottom of the gorge and from the Chimney and Erwins view overlook. One of our favorite hikes and views on that portion of the NC mountains.
We hiked about 3 miles and saw the gorge from many different views. I really enjoyed it. You can park in the lower parking lot which is paved or go about .3 miles and park in gravel lot. Great geology lesson. I read about it on internet while we were walking. You can eat at Famous Louises when you leave.... 更多
See my review of Linville Gorge for more details. This area is absolutely stunning, and well worth a day spent exploring the falls and surrounding woods. Don't miss it!
We stopped by to walk to the falls. I read you can take 3 different paths the falls. Easy, moderate or strenuous. I guess we didn't look at the routes very well and ended up taking the strenuous walk.. The path was not marked once you were on it or approached it. We just followed everyone else across the bridge.... 更多
