Some of the oldest dwellings in the state. Well maintained. Surrounded by gardens that feature floral and edible plant of the period. Native plants labeled and provide excellent access for photographs. Be sure to get a layout map of the gardens. Parking nearby. No fee.
We attended the Easels in the Gardens event which is a fundraiser for the Cupola House held every other year. The docents are very knowledgeable about the house and welcome questions. A nicely restored historic home with extensive gardens, included on the walking tour. Cannot go up into the cupola.
We visited while on a walking tour. Our guide seemed a bit bored as this was the last tour of the day and one of the last stops. Unfortunately you can not visit the actual cupola, as the guide said it was unsafe. That would have been the highlight of the tour. Perhaps they will renovate that next?
