My husband and I visited here strictly to see the "bamboo forest." First, prepare to fend off some bugs. They were everywhere. Flying bugs, spiders, etc. Second, we were saddened by the amount of bamboo that had been vandalized. It was pretty, but not a necessary stop in my opinion.
This is a nice place to have a pic nic, play in the river and just relax. Best to go during the week, weekends can get crazy and crowded. Easy to access and good for small children. We stopped by twice while vacationing with our small children to cool off. The kids played in the water and enjoyed the rocks. Bring water shoes and be careful. Some of the rocks are slippery.
We went here just to relax and that is exactly what was good for this 71 and 90 yr. old ladies, we stuck our feet in that cold water, Daddy always said good for Arthur.
its fresh mountain water, and cold. nice to dip in on a hot day..great tubing or just swimming.. you can buy feed to feed the ducks. or hang out on a park bench in the shade. its just nice and relaxing..
Kids love to play in water on a hot day. Husband loves to fish for trout. Some months of the year has a fishing tournament, you catch a fish with tag you win a prize.
This island park is beautiful! Its pretty big so their is lots of room to have a party or just to hang out. The river runs through it so you can get wet while you are relaxing. You can fish if you have your fishing lic. also. Most places isn't very deep! Ducks like it to.
