We visited Charlotte in early September and found this area. It is a great place for a stroll/jog, with lovely homes in a quiet neighborhood.
Took the segway tour with Charlottenctours and had the pleasure of experiencing the fourth ward. Such a beautiful oasis in the heart of the city. Loved the beautiful tree lined streets, quaint, artistic bird houses, book swap station, and beautiful homes. I would love to love to call the fourth ward my home!
Not having spent much time in the Charlotte area, the night before my working and open air bus tour of the Fourth Ward I bought the shortest history book I could find. Reading it, with intermittent internet annotations for references to other events and people to place them in proper historical significance, paid off. For me, this enabled the Fourth... 更多
If you're looking for a little getaway from the hustle and bustle of uptown, be sure and take a walk through this neighborhood. It's a five minute walk from uptown and has beautiful older homes in a park-like setting. There are maps posted in the area that describe many of the homes, and there is a beautiful park to wander... 更多
This historic area of Charlotte is very cute and easy to walk around. Loved the Victorian homes and architecture. It's a charming part of town with a nice walking park inside of this district. Pretty small, so you can walk around it quickly, but worth the visit.
Great place to explore in the heart of the City. Lots of wonderful architecture and hidden gems, particularly in the parks. Don't rush through - enjoy the pace.
Cute, cleaner part of downtown. Not sure I saw the whole are though. The thotel tourist map/magazine made the downtown area sound like it had lots of shops, but I was not impressed. Science museum closed at 4 too.
We took a Segway tour that took us through parts of the fourth Ward. It was very charming and we are glad we saw it. It is quite small compared to out historic districts in other urban areas. Most of Charlotte is brand-new, so this was nice to see.
There is a MUST SEE experience during the Christmas Holidays. Each home is beautifully decorated. Well they have the money. There is a guided tour of Fourth Ward. I REALLY enjoyed myself as well as those with me.
Make sure you find a map of the walking tour. It highlights things about each home. Also, check out Alexander Michael's Restaurant and Tavern. They have good food and great craft beers.
