This park offers a huge variety of things to do. It is just outside Charlotte city limits, so first time campers can go and be close to home if they forgot anything. Can camp from primitive (tent) to an RV and everything in between. Various trails, from paved and easy to climbing up hills. In the summer you can rent... 更多
My wife and brother-in law and myself went to the preserve in July 2015 to do some walking for some exercise. I am 69,my brother-in law is 74,and my wife is 59. We walked down to what looked like a fishing pier. While we were on the pier I tripped over fishing line that was just thrown on the pier.... 更多
My family had recently moved to the Charlotte area. Our daughter wanted to visit the preserve because she read about this place in a brochure. We had a blast! We all love nature so while we saw many new things, we also learned a lot. This is not only a great place to walk around, it is a great place... 更多
This center has been around for many years and beginning to show it's age. The permanent exhibits are increasingly getting in disrepair. The "live" presentations are great for the children and the Father Tree show is nice also. The outdoor walk is nice and it appears as though they are clearing more of that area which is a good thing.
One of my favorite nature spots, there are things to do for everybody here! There's an adorable nature center, many hiking trails, fishing access, and several pavilions. The playground is a fun place for the little guys, too. The campground is small, but tidy and seems to always have people in it.
The area of McDowell Nature Center and Preserve is well kept. I enjoyed my visit. There were great tracks and nature trails of which to run. The natural habit was most interesting. The kids would love it as it is on their level of comprehension when the specialist spoke.
very nice nature preserve park, they have a children area, good hiking easy hiking path. The staff are very friendly, our 2 1/2 yr old grandson, loves to follow by path looking of color & shapes.
I used to go for walks/hikes/runs there almost every day when I lived near that reserve. It has a good variety of trails and each trail is easy to see on the map they provide at different entrances. It is right on the edge of Lake Wylie and has a good challenge of elevation on the trails.
This nature preserve is an awesome place for kids and adults. There are free activities for kids to do while at the park. There is a little museum inside the building. They have a calendar with tons of activities through out the month. This place is clean, and safe for kids. There is also a very nice little park for... 更多
