I took the little boat from St Mary's harbour and despite the quiet rough sea I got to Tresco. The sun was shining and the island is great. Only 175 people live on there. You can hire a bike or walk around which is quiet pleasant! I went to the garden, Well kept and I had so much fun like... 更多
Tresco Abby gardens are worth a look if your on the island but not worth a special trip. £15 per adult you really need to be keen on plants although I found the Valhalla collection very interesting. In my opinion the Trebah sub tropical gardens in Cornwall are far superior.
the gardens were outstanding, and we wished we had more time to wander. The golden pheasant were hilarious, unfortunately we didn't get to see the red squirrels though. The only downside for us was the cafe...... £5.10 for a sandwich.... OMG and the sausage roll was expensive and rock hard.. the pastry crumbled tp nothing. Luckily i checked my receipt... 更多
From the moment we arrived my camera was in action. these gardens are mind blowing. On an eleven day cruise around the UK and Emerald Isles this was my favourite stop. I have just got to go back, Plants and trees I have never seen before in a romantic setting and the Valhalla collection of ships figureheads was a bonus.
On a day trip to the Scilly Isles with the family, including our dog. Really nice gardens, with some very colourful birds and also an interesting collection of past ship figures. Also not too far from the white sandy beaches.
We stayed on St Mary's and caught the boat over to Tresco to see the gardens. It's about a 20 minute walk to the gardens from the quay but well signposted. The gardens are lovely, so many lovely plants that would not survive on the mainland, a horticulturalists paradise. The restaurant was a little limited in snack type food so... 更多
Went in early May and whilst it was a bit early for some plants there was enough colour to make our visit interesting. Loved the proteas which were in flower and stunning. Lots to look at including the Valhalla figureheads which was very interesting. The café was adequate although limited in choice. Nice to sit outside and watch the birds... 更多
The gardens are impressive with an amazing array of plants. The first thing we saw was a couple of red squirrels, something that I have never seen on the mainland. However I do think that £30 for a couple is too much to charge.
This is a spacious welcoming coffee shop. Limited drinks and food available but what we had was good and value for money. The bathrooms are outside in a separate block but they were clean and well appointed. The gardens themselves were fabulous and a gardener was more than happy to answer our questions. I would recommend you allow plenty of... 更多
