The new Seneca Art & Culture Center is an interactive, interpretive facility at Ganondagan telling the story of the Seneca and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) contributions to art, culture and society for more than 2,000 years to the present day. The gift shop features beautiful Seneca and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) art, jewelry, basketry, clothing, and our heirloom Iroquois White Corn products. A 17th-century bark longhouse replica (open May- Oct) reflects the life of the Seneca people who once lived here. Three marked ethno-botanical and historical trails invite you to walk and learn more about us. Heirloom gardens and fields of native grasses are contemporary reminders of the land's origins. Our festivals and special events share the culture of our people through dance, music, arts, sports, storytelling and other Iroquois traditions. Visit Ganondagan to discover the living culture and natural world of the Seneca people at their historic Town of Peace.

The long house is very interesting and the gallery of history is informative. Everyone should learn the history of the original inhabitants of western New York to appreciate their unique culture and enhance our understanding of others.

Lots of great exhibits in this small museum. Learn about the Seneca and other Native Americans that resided in this area. The full-size replica longhouse was the highlight.

We enjoyed the grounds, building, interactive displays, the long house, the hike, views and personnel. A smaller version of the Native American Museum of the Smithsonian...with nature as the panoramic view. We loved it!

We came across this remarkable State Historic Site with its brand new museum about the Seneca and Haudenosaunee people. All staff members were well informed and very helpful, especially the young interpreter inside the amazing replica bark longhouse. We will certainly return and hope to catch one of their events and also visit the White Corn Project down the road.... 更多

For years we've walked the trails of Ganondagan. It really is a magical place. Just ask our dog Muffy who spooks at certain locations on the trails. Obviously the spirits of the ancestors are present! This was our first time visiting the relatively new museum that has been erected on the site. While small, it's definitely worth the visit and... 更多

A really nice Historic Site. A lot of exhibits for the Indian culture of the area. Well laid out. Nice parking area. Not too far outside of Rochester.

The museum is fairly new (less than a year, I think we were told). The exhibits were pretty informative and varied. The staff seemed to all be of the Six Nations tribes and clearly took great pride in their museum, answering all our questions. We also took a half-hour walk on the trails, seeing very few others on a June... 更多

My friend and I took the day to visit the Ganondagan Seneca Native Site. It is a day we will always remember. This is my second visit, as the Visitor Center was just being constructed on my first visit in 2014. I feel priveledged to have visited the 'old' site, the farm and trails. This visit was inspiring with all... 更多

Start by watching a video about the Seneca creation story. Then watch the video about its destruction by the French in 1687. Also be sure to visit the longhouse.

This state historic site is different from any museum I've seen on the East Coast. It is a great place to learn more about the history and culture of the Haudenosaunee (people of the longhouse). There is a new visitor center, which includes a creation video, and a multi-media gallery. Outside, there are hiking trails through the woods. You might... 更多
