The Horton Point Lighthouse is a North Fork gem well worth searching out. This restored historical structure sits on a high bluff on the Long Island Sound. From the lighthouse tower Connecticut is clearly in view, and one can see for miles both east and west. The museum inside the building has some very interesting and rare items, and the... 更多
Old lighthouse is now a museum. Picnic area with great views of the Long Island Sound out to Connecticut. You can even walk down the steps if your bold to the beach below.
We drove into the parking lot, and paid $5 to park. The Lighthouse was supposed to open at 11:30. Never happened. When we left, I asked for our money back. The attendant said "didn't I tell you it wasn't going to open?" No he didn't. We got our $5 back.
Not impressed. $5 to park and they never said the museum was not open. We should have checked the hours before visiting. Beautiful view. Interesting story about the anchor outside the lighthouse.
We are sorry that you couldn't visit the Nautical Museum and climb the tower of the Horton Point Lighthouse. We... 更多
Bicycled there; nice grounds and view. You can picnic, take a nature walk, or go down to the beach. Also climbed lighthouse and got informative tour.
The light is very easy to reach and the parking lot is right next to the yard/light. It's a beautiful spot and there are steps (a bit steep for the very young and/or elderly). The light wasn't open when I was there; the lot was still closed as well. Beautiful view out on the bay.

One of the best kept secrets is that parking is only $5 and you can access the beach. All of the other town beaches charge $20 if you do t... 更多
Every year or so I visit this park, and enjoy the old and still solid lighthouse, the open areas with fine wild cherry trees, and the views across the Sound. The drive there is pretty too. But this year I was delighted to discover there's now a nature trail just to the west of the lighthouse. A gem.
