My granddaughter, visiting Rochester from North Carolina, wanted to go whitewater rafting while here. Unfortunately, the statewide drought made that impossible. A Frederick Law Olmstead designed park right near U of R and Strong Hospital. The parks stretches over the expressway as well. Great bridges that take you over the Genesee and the Canal.
Genesee Valley Park is one of the oldest parks in Rochester and it's right on the banks of the Genesee River. It's right next to the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital. College Town a new shopping district is also nearby. I'm very fortunate because I can ride my bike from my house down the Erie Canal tow path... 更多
A truly historic city park located where the Genesse River meets the Erie Canal and the Riverway Trail meets the Canalway Trail. One of the oldest parks in the areas, it is great for bicycling, golf, canoeing & kayaking and picnicking!
We come here often for various events ( picnic, hiking, bike riding, running a race ). It has plenty of parking, easy access to sites, beautiful scenery, and wonderful breezes on a hot summery.
A great park to visit. It is close to the University of Rochester, and the Genesee river is on the side of it. Many high schools etc. hold races there on the cross country course. It also has a public golf course.
