We enjoyed our visit on a beautiful day where we could see far out to the lake. We enjoyed listening to the history of the building and walking the steps to get the amazing view from the top of the light house.
We stopped by during the day and the office was closed even though the brochure said it would be open. Not really sure if we were just off season. Regardless we made the best of our visit and walked around the grounds and read the signs about the history of the light house. Wish we could of walked up to... 更多
This was one of 82 NY lighthouses I photo shoot.I also did the Irondequoit lighthouse trail. This is a faux lh,with only 7 out of 15.They won't let me review this trip.
It only takes ashore time to tour the nice little museum there and hike up into the lighthouse, but it is very interesting and the docents are very nice.
Very nice lighthouse that sits near the beach on Lake Ontario in Rochester NY. The windows were being replaced on the morning we visited so we were unable to go up to the top- A bit disappointing.
This is up on the hill in the back of a church parking lot, which makes for plenty of parking! The lighthouse is nice, although wasn't opened when I visited. You can still walk the grounds and enjoy the history of this structure as it provide guidance to many a sailor.
I grew up in Rochester and lived there for over 50 years. this beautiful lighthouse is one of my favorites. We stopped by over the weekend to climb to the top. Unfortunately, due to time constraints that never happened. After a brief inside tour, we went outside to wait as instructed for a guide to take us up to the... 更多

We took the tour and climbed the stairs. Be aware that after the stairs there is a ladder to get to the top where the light is located. Our tour guide... 更多
This lighthouse has a wonderful history and you can be a part of it. Tours are offered and you can climb all the way to the top. Would be a fun addition to a visit to the Charlotte Pier as they are so close to each other.
