We stopped by after hours to check out the grounds and the Lighthouse, primarily we were hoping for some good sunset pictures. Unfortunately the site doesn't lend itself well to such photos, but it is a very neat stop. It is the oldest working LH on the great lakes and the stonework bears it out, this is a neat stop... 更多
I don't know what all the hype about this place was...granted it was closed when we arrived but it was hardly more than three stories high. The museum section is ok and going up in the lighthouse was very cool, but the real treasure here is the dedicated and knowledgeable people. They can share with you some really neat history about the charlotte beach area that just might make you more proud of being from here.

This was one of 82 NY lighthouses I photo shoot.I also did the Irondequoit lighthouse trail. This is a faux lh,with only 7 out of 15.They won't let me review this trip.
It only takes ashore time to tour the nice little museum there and hike up into the lighthouse, but it is very interesting and the docents are very nice.
