Very much enjoyed the museum and trolley ride. Although small, the museum housed lots of memorabilia, historical photos, and a small gift shop. The trolley ride was exciting - views of the river, lighthouse, and countryside along the way. It would have been excellent with a narrated tour. Many thanks to all the volunteers who make this endeavor possible.
I live near here and love trains, so when i found out about this place i had high hopes. Since Kingston was the first capital of NY and a general Hub of trains, i figured this would have some nice stuff. However when i got there i was disappointed. it was rather small. they didn't have a lot trains to... 更多
The visit takes a little effort to get to but well worth it. The collection also includes NYC subway cars. Brings back lots of memories. Staff helped make it a great visit.
This is a interesting, but small museum. Still in development, the museum is housed in the upper floor of a car maintenance building and shows a lot of promise. They also operate a historic trolley service that runs along the Kingston waterfront during the weekends.
Wander through the Trolley Museum (really a yard that has old trolleys, subway cars and street cars), and it will take you back in time. I remember the old subway cars and trolley cars displayed from growing up in Brooklyn, NY. A short walk from the Marina and boat museum which is also worth visiting.
I was visiting another museum along Kingston's waterfront when I heard that the trolley was running. I went to the museum and fond out the scoop. At noon sharp the diesel powered trolley departed the barn and ambled along its one hour route. It is a good way to see some odd things and enjoy an hour away from the... 更多
This is a wonderful little exhibit in the restaurant section of the Rondout area. We have been in the area, but had only seen the trolley running. Never knew about the museum until we picked out a rack card. This is an ongoing labor of love for enthusiasts of the subject. The museum is up a flight of stairs after... 更多
My wife and I where visiting the Kingston New York/ Roundout Creek area and the timing was such we were able to ride the restored 1925 trolley down to see the Kingston Light House. What a hidden jem. The driver was very informative...and a great trip revisiting a time in history. I suggest if you plan on taking the trolley... 更多
We travelled 3.5 hours from New Jersey to visit the area but primarily my reason for selecting the destination was the trolley museum. We arrived there during the stated open hours - there were a few people working on trains in the yard but museum had a big closed sign on door. I milled around for a little but no... 更多
