Incredible would carvings and some very old painting displayed in poor light. A few prehispanic artifacts. Well displayed items with beautiful tropical hardwood floors
The Museo Regional is a must visit when in Querétaro, you can see the history of the region since the Spanish conquest until early 20th Century.
The Regional Museum was terrific. It runs the gamut of Mexican and Queretaro history, begins with Pre-hispanic periods and running to the present day. The temporary exhibit on corn is excellent. The museum is housed in a beautiful former convent which is worth seeing just for itself. We spent several hours there, those with less interest in history might spend less... 更多
We were walking by and there was a christmas market on the central patio of the museum. They invited us in and were welcome to walk around the museum while looking at the handicrafts. I was very interested to learn that there are guided tours during the evening to learn about the history of the museum and it's surroundings and... 更多
While there we just toured the area and lots to do and see, as Mexico has so much history as no matter where you go this is something you will enjoy doing, with friends and family. The local are also great to inter-act with and just lots to see and read about.
If you're downtown in the historic district you're likely to come across this Museum. It is worth a quick visit. It was formerly a convent in the augustinian tradition. Later the government took it and turned it into a military headquarters. The architecture is stunning. The reason I rated as three stars is there is very little to see. they... 更多
The entrance tickets are super cheap. The museum is pretty big. It has a gallery with modern art (paintings), but you can also learn a lot of history of Queretaro and its region. I loved orange trees in patio and a fountain. Very charming place. *no labels\ descriptions in English though*
The Museo Regional is one of the top five attractions in Querétaro! Housed in the ex-Convent of San Francisco, one of the most important colonial structures in all Mexico, this museum offers a great array of paintings, sculptures, furniture, documents, and artifacts related to the whole region of the State of Querétaro. Starting with rooms mapping the development of pre-Colombian... 更多
The Museo Regional is a very interesting place to visit. All exhibits of course are in Spanish but even if you cannot read it you will throughly enjoy your experience. The architecture is gorgeous and a wonderful way to waste some time!!
