These falls are beautiful and are right off 414. The downside is that there is no where to park, there is a hotel with cabins there, but the new owner is a real curmudgeon and won't let people park in his parking lot, to see the falls even if the lot is empty. He was very hostel. Pulling over on... 更多
My wife Julie and I had a wonderful time in Hector, NY and the surrounding area, and our stay at Magnolia Place Bed & Breakfast was just what we needed. Magnolia Place was very clean, the owners were very kind and hospitable, and the breakfast each day was over the top.
Pulled off the road and had our picture taken by another traveler doing the same thing. Very picturesque scene.... just be careful and be mindful of traffic as you are literally right along side of the highway.
We stopped by the falls to get some wedding pictures. They turned out great despite the light rain happening that day. Would like to stop again and spend some time looking at the falls and getting more beautiful pictures.
Pretty fall to see but it is right beside the road and with truck roaring past I didn't feel safe there. Not much else to see other than the fall so if you want to find a hike |I'd recommend going to find a park than this one.
Hector Falls is located on the east side of Seneca Lake on route 414, about 2 miles from Watkins Glen. Driving from the northern part of the lake we had noticed a small falls from the road and thought it was it, but were then directed to go just a few yards away and there it was...you cannot miss it.... 更多
Driving along Rt. 414 on our quest along the Seneca Wine Trial my wife and I were Fantastilized, by this increadible natural wonder called Hector Falls... Wide horizontal rock layering with sunlit gleaming cascading water for all the world to see. This was truly nature's magic where you might least expect it....No time for picture taking though with cars in... 更多
Difficult to view from the road in all it's beauty, but amazing at sunset. Recommend taking the True Love Sail as it bring you right up to the falls base as it descend into Lake Seneca.
I've been coming to the Finger Lakes for years, but somehow didn't know Hector Falls existed, or that it is the 3rd highest waterfall in NYS.
Beautiful falls. Parking is not the greatest, but ok. Make sure you are careful when exiting your vehicle due to oncoming traffic. It does have a nice little walkway to stand on so you don't get run over. Nice for pictures.
