Goshen is the Home of the Trotter. This museum catalogs and shows how harness racing has influenced horse racing. You have to go on the 3-D ride!!!
This is a fine museum that has interesting displays and interactive exhibits. I do not have a particular interest in horse racing, but this museum is so well done that I recommend you stop in and browse. Actual race track out back with stalls and horses in residence when we visited. Very nice gift shop.
Great introduction to the world of harness racing. The museum covers the history form it's origins to present day. Lots of memorabilia from tracks no longer in existence. Great interactive exhibits for the kids. Before or after, take a stroll over to the Historic Track.
Being a harness fan for many years it was definite place to stop while in Goshen, NY. They do a nice job of displaying the history of the pacer and trotter. Back in the day horses, tracks and drivers are all over the museum. The driving simulation is a must! Even though I have jogged a few the simulation is... 更多
A wonderful place ! Spent 3 wonderful days over the Fourth of July holiday weekend 2015 in Goshen NY. This is the time of the Year when they hold the National inductions in to this prestigious place and anyone who is involved deeply in the sport , appears. It's a whos who in the sport, now and in the past.... 更多
My family and I visit the museum every year. This is such a charming place to visit. It is jam packed with historical facts on how Harness Racing came to be. It is a quaint attraction that you can leisurely tour on your own. It can be viewed from top to bottom in as little as 20 minutes or as... 更多
This is a very well funded and operated museum. It far exceeded what I had expected. It is located in a very upscale barn that you might expect to see on an estate somewhere. There is a lot of reading so the little ones might not think much of it. Teens, with an interest in animals, particularly horses and adults... 更多
Just how much or how little do you know about standard bred horses and how trotters began? No matter - a visit here will certainly provide you with at least a few surprises. This museum is a wonderfully laid out adventure through the history of trotters - including virtual reality ride on a sulky during an exciting race!
Actually, I am not sure what I expected, but this is a sweet stop. The town itself is cute and the museum is on the Main road, easy to get to as you are leaving town away from Rt 17. I parked on the street, not seeing a parking lot. It was a free entry day. I enjoyed reading how... 更多
