Be prepared to enter an interactive time capsule. Louis's home is kept at its peak splendor of the time (40's - 70's). You'll feel like it's 1972. Sound recordings of Louis provide the welcome tones of Louis's voice and thoughts. Additionally, the guide we had (Harvey) was most thoughtful and provided a lot of great background info. Besides Harvey, the... 更多

Given the celebrity culture we live in, it’s hard to imagine one of the world’s best-known and most recognizable musicians living in a modest house in an unremarkable neighbourhood and being treated as just another resident. Granted, Louis Armstrong was on the road for up to 300 days a year at the time he and his fourth wife, Lucille, moved... 更多

This was a fascinating look at how this international jazz star lived at home in the 65 days of the year when he was not on tour. The house has been preserved as it was at the time of the death of Satchmo's fourth wife. Lucille Wilson's Pucci dress is still hanging in the closet. There is also an ante-room... 更多

As the other reviews have said - fantastic to have the house where the great man lived preserved exactly as Lucille left it. You could feel the warmth and love of their relationship in the house. We were tickled by Louis' love of bling - the bathroom, etc. - and his recordings of himself: a fantastic life of which he... 更多

What a gem! I found out about the house by coincidence and had a great experience. I visited the museum in the morning on a weekday, so I was the only tour participant. My guide was knolwegable and enthusiastic with great attention to detail. To think the house has been preserved amost exactly the way Louis Armstrong's wife Lucille left... 更多

The museum is located in a work working class neighborhood, Corona , Queens, NYC on a residential street. It is the first and only home owned by Satchmo and his last wife. It is all kept in the original condition from the 1970s when he died. They have guided tours as part of admission. You cannot view the home without... 更多

Louis Armstrong's home in Corona is now a museum filled with memorabilia and the original furnishings, even including the kitchen. The guides are very informative and one learns a great deal about the man and his music. Any music lover will have a wonderful visit.

We had a few hours while waiting for our plane to take off and saw that the Louis Armstrong Museum was in walking distance from our motel. The home is left exactly as it was when Louis lived in it. The tour guide was very informative and it reminded me a bit of the Graceland tour that I went on... 更多

You have to take the #7 subway from Manhattan to the Corona stop to visit this brick house that the famous jazz trumpeter lived in with him wife from 1943 to his death in 1971. Why Corona? She was from the area and bought the house in her name and lived there until she died in the early 1980s. She... 更多

This is not about the house at all, but the experience is amazing. I was thrilled in that place!! How beautiful is a millionaire guy living in a such small place. It's almost impossible walk around the house and don't fall into tears when you listen the records of him made by his wife. A king of Jazz that could... 更多
