This is a well preserved old baseball stadium from the early days of baseball. Wooden bleachers, small dugouts, and none of the glitz and glitter of modern day stadiums. Baseball the way it should be. Even though there were no games being played, your imagination could run wild here.
Beautiful little ball park. An historic site where baseball was invented (supposedly). Saw a couple of adult local baseball teams play on the field. Free to watch. A must if you visit the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. Plenty of free parking.
Just around the corner from the hall of fame is Doubleday Field. We got there just as a game was coming to a finish and we got to walk around the stands for a little bit. The field is full of history and has a couple of plaques to read. It's a nice little field that fits the surrounding area.
