Singer Castle was beautiful despite some well worn carpets and wallpaper. It has such charm. There is a knight in armor as you enter the castle and there are many secret passageways! Our guide was really excellent, though rushed. Our tour group could only stay for a 45 minute visit due to the boat schedule. No matter, we did get... 更多
We visited Singer Castle through an Uncle Sam's boat tour. We enjoyed the tour - it's a fun castle with a good tour guide. The castle was designed based on a book, and so has many of the fun touches that real castles may not, such as secret passageways, winding staircases and hidden vantage points. Unfortunately on the boat tour... 更多
This was our first ever visit to Singer Castle. We had a great guide and learned a lot about the castle and its history. Singer Castle is a small medieval castle modeled after a castle featured in a book by Sir Walter Scott. It has armour, secret passages and even a dungeon. It was built by the one-time CEO of... 更多
Tour was great. Disappointed that there was many seniors on the trip and they could not make it into the castle due to the amount of uphill walking and stair climbing. This was not mentioned till after paying for your boat ride and admission. Informed on the boat ride if you have any back, knee, heart problems you can sit... 更多
Tour guide at Singer Castle was fair, I actually let our group and listened to another very knowledgeable one. It would have been much nicer to hear more of the history behind the castle. Not much time left after the Singer Castle visit to see Bolt Castle; so if you plan to go to both in one day make sure... 更多
Singer Castle (ever hear of Singer Sewing Machines?) on Dark Island was intended by its original owner to be a copy of a castle featured in a story by Sir Walter Scott. In contrast to nearby Boldt Castle, which is more of an estate on an island, Singer is a smaller medieval-style castle, complete with secret passages and a dungeon.... 更多
I was trying to take pictures and I couldn't keep up with the guide and the group because the tour groups are moved like cattle. Tour guide says 2-3 sentences and we have to move again. Also, when you are standing looking at a room you are all packed in a 20x20 foot room - all 25-30 people. Would have... 更多
Appreciated the docent-led tour so we could learn about the family associated with the building and maintaining of the castle. Has a number of quirky old features. Be sure to see the top-floor servants' dormitory (looked like the bedroom of the seven dwarfs!) Reached the castle on a quick boat trip from the Schermerhorn Marina - great service.
