I have traveled here about a dozen times. This quaint museum honors the sport's legends. Go in mid-June for induction ceremony. Tons of autograph opportunities then. Small museum, but the staff is supportive.
Canastota, where the Hall of Fame is located, is the home of two world champions -- Carmen Basilio and Billy Backus. The best time to visit the Hall is during induction, in early June. my son is into any and all sports. the hotel we are staying at had info on the above. my son took classes so i thought he would enjoy it. we had to pay more than the flier said. for 13.50 per person, I would expect to be there a few hours not 30 minutes. the place in my opinion... 更多
Everything you wanted to know about boxing can be found here. They must have what seems like hundreds of fist castings here. You can compare your fist with some of the greatest boxing legends including the "Greatest" himself Muhammad Ali.
Maybe it's that we just visited the Baseball HOF, but this site can be covered in 1-1.5 hours. Some of the videos are excellent, and it's interesting to see the actual former Madison Square Garden boxing ring (smaller than it seems on TV). I'm glad I saw it once, but I don't see myself coming back.
If you're a big boxing fan, this is a great place to visit. Don't let the outside fool you because it is loaded with so much boxing memorabilia. My son loves boxing and he thoroughly enjoyed visiting here. Next door is another building that has the boxing ring from Madison Square Garden, a gift shop and collectibles signed by boxers.... 更多
